This is a place to grow as a writer and delve into narratives of all kinds.

I don’t want to go out, I’d rather stay home and read.

Hello, my name is Grant. I live in Nevada. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always preferred being alone, engulfed in my hobbies. Reading and writing have always been two of my favorites. I am excited you found my blog. "You have quite the imagination," teachers always used to tell me. It has been my lifelong dream to become an author, but my anxiety has made me doubt my abilities and has ultimately held me back from pursuing what I truly want. I am the complete opposite of all the hero characters I grew up reading about. Although most great characters are hesitant to start their journey at first, right? I am learning to navigate my anxiety and use it as a source of inspiration in my writing.

Speaking of hero characters, Spider-Man has always been one of my favorites. I remember picking up my first Spidey comic book when I was a kid. I related to the character and was amazed by the world. Just like Peter Parker, I was timid and socially awkward. I still am to some extent, but have come to accept that this is part of what makes me who I am. I feel like channeling my emotions onto the page might be a good way to process. My current goal is to self-publish a Sci-Fi novel that I have been working on for the past few years. That’s plenty of time to finish a book. What’s this guy waiting for? While polishing some drafts, I will dedicate myself to this blog while I navigate the competitive world of freelance writing.

I always enjoyed English class in high school, which led me to earn a degree in this field from my local university. I originally planned to pursue a career in culinary arts, as food has always been a passion of mine. I believe cooking and writing share some similarities. Perhaps I could combine the two. Why not just write a cookbook, then? Food and stories have always brought me comfort. This is a place for me to share my passion for storytelling with others. I will offer tips and advice for aspiring writers based on my education. I will share some ways to overcome writer’s block and help you avoid common grammar mistakes. I will be publishing book reviews on some of my favorites, such as George Orwell’s 1984 and The Lord of the Rings trilogy from J.R.R. Tolkien, as well as new discoveries, including Gate to Kagoshima by Poppy Kuroki and A.G. Rodriguez’s Space Brooms. These spoiler-free book reviews will look at the author’s writing style, characters, and theme.

Are you ready to join me on this journey through the world of storytelling? Do you long to conquer writer’s block, refine your grammar and punctuation, or simply seek inspiration? Perhaps you're on the hunt for your next literary adventure? I invite you to share your first experience with reading and/or writing in the comment section below. Thank you for reading. I look forward to exploring the vast universe of storytelling alongside you.
